Thanks A Lot !
A uproarious Sitcom that revolves around a blended family headed by an aging Widower and Grandfather named Lot and the Grandchildren he sired with his two Daughters.
Lot has his hands full trying to hide the family's secret from the local villagers and find eligible men willing to take on his Trampy but lovable Daughters...and his 2 grandkids who are both cousins and half brothers to each other ! Comedy ensues as the family of 5 navigates it way through life after the Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and the madcap shenanigans they get caught up in along the way, just trying to fit in.

A couple of weeks ago my JW sister in law made a remark about the advantage of Zoom meetings. " You tune in...you watch a few videos and you're done ! " As she said "done" she brushed her hands together as if dusting them off and flung them outward as one would do when completing a unpleasant but necessary task.
A lot of JW's go to meetings not because they can't wait to hear something new and interesting. They often go out of obligation, habit or peer pressure and because they mostly want to see their friends. It seems to me that little by little it's getting easier and easier for them to envision their lives without the JW's. It would be disheartening to make the effort to go to the Hall and see it half empty and find that none of the people you actually like are there. On top of that, to have your temperature taken and sit there for 2 hours with a mask on, this includes the already fidgety kids who would rather be elsewhere. What about commenting? You'd have to mumble through a mask. To remove it would expose the microphone holder and those around you to "droplets" and defeat the whole purpose of wearing the mask.
so now will the snowflake idiots on the left want to ban archery?.

Let's Ban Archery
I swear some folks like to find things to be upset about and then spread their negative outlook to others and seek their validation. Who said anything about banning archery? This is like seeing a news video about the dangers of Obesity and concluding that the extreme left is going to ban CHOCOLATE CAKE??
did you know that noah entered the ark in the end part of november and also that jesus' followers flead jerusalem around 25th of november 66ce?.
could it be that a significant group of jehovah's witnesses would begin to flee to the "wilderness" in the end of november?
revelation 12 speaks about a flight of a symbolic woman to a wilderness.
I would like to flee away from this system with Covid related requirements.
Not counting old age and other sicknesses 20+ thousand JW's have died of Covid in this past year and a half. Since they believe it will take 1000 years to grow to perfection, hopefully the ones "fleeing from this system of things" aren't carrying covid or suffering from any number of ailments that require a handful of medications to stay alive. I imagine that if and when "armageddon" is over, there will be JW's who are in their high 80's or 90's or JW's who were diagnosed with untreatable stage 4 cancer the week before armageddon arrived and even with the best of medical attention, only have so many more months to live and will already be at deaths door. There may be JW's who were laying on an operating table having heart surgery when Armageddon hits or will have just given birth to a premature or sick baby. Since it will be 1000 years before they are finally perfect, will the still imperfect sick or elderly people who survived armageddon, suffer and die in the new System from the myriad of illnesses they carry or die of old age before perfection is reached . If so will they be resurrected later or immediately?
It used to be fun to think about paradise and living forever, petting lions and living "happily ever after" but as an adult, when you look at it literally and focus on the details, you realized how far fetched the whole concept is. It worked for us because most JW's only have a idealized vague notion about what after armageddon will look like and what it would take to health wise to get everyone past the thousand years and what being happy living for all eternity would take, mentally. They mock "worldly" people for believing they're going to heaven to be with Jesus yet at the same time their hope is just as much of a fairy tale.
Maybe living in a country with "Covid requirements" might not be such a bad thing to you after all ? Hopefully we all have many happy Novembers to look forward to and won't spend them speculating on nonsense and wishing for better time that will never arrive.
after a conversation with hubby l started thinking about silly lyrics in songs , of which there are many .bang a gong by marc bolan is pretty daft , although apparently his lyrics are deep .

Wow that's terrible. I'm sorry for your loss.
Thank you...yes it was terrible. Blood loss is not a pleasant way to go and it was completely unnecessary in my fathers case. He was in a modern hospital with all the equipment necessary to have saved him if only he hadn't been convinced to sign the "no blood" papers put in front of him.
The irony is that my Wife's Father was an American and he was an Elder and a life long JW. He knew what he was doing. He traveled to the bloodless surgery clinic in California that was set up especially to treat JW's. They were unable to boost his blood count in time to save him but at least he got to try something to save himself. But my kindly gentle hard working Father was a foreigner with no family in this country to call him to his senses. He never quite adjusted to living here and was only "studying" the Bible Literature with the JW's because my late Mother (also a foreigner) had become indoctrinated decades before and he wanted live forever in the "new system" with her the rest of us. The only thing he knew about blood transfusions was what he learned during those "studies" (indoctrination sessions). After he died we were assured by the Elders that since he had led an exemplary life and had died upholding Jehovah's laws, we'd most assuredly be seeing him again soon in the resurrection. Nevertheless, they couldn't allow us to hold his memorial at the Kingdom Hall because he was not a baptized JW.
(sorry to hijack this post. I've told my story here before but it's been quite some time ago. I always hope someone lurking (such as a current JW) might be saved from a similar fate or maybe someone at Headquarters will read it and be able to somehow make a change in this deadly and tragic misapplication of the scriptures)
we just had our co visit a few weeks ago.
apparently, he was encouraging all who could to regular pioneer, to at least try it out for a year.
because of this, we had a few people in our hall become one.. so this weekend we were on zoom service, and the sister that was just appointed was talking about it.
Since I suspect the whole door-to-door record-keeping thing was actually to maintain a “charity”-related paper trail (in case of auditing), and the Org’s tax-exemption is likely approaching it’s end, there probably isn’t much point, anymore.
True, and we were told to keep our time slips as proof that we were ministers, in case we were drafted. Luckily for those of us in the U.S. the draft was done away with before I needed them. Pioneers were thought to fare better when it came time to be drafted and that was a big draw for young guys of draft age back in the day.
